Senior backend software engineer
Come and join our growing real-time transport data startup in Cambridge!
If you have a passion to create something extraordinary, read on…
We are searching for a highly driven candidate who has commercial experience of:
-
.NET/Java
-
HTML5, CSS and JavaScript/Typescript
-
Unit and end to end testing
-
CI with Jenkins/TeamCity
Who are we?
Building Intellect makes transport and smart city data available in real time. MotionMap, our multi-modal travel planner not only provides the most comprehensive user experience, but our analytics manage travel demand during peak times and help reduce congestion. Initially developed for MK:Smart, the smart cities initiative for Milton Keynes that is now widely recognised as the flagship smart city project in the UK, MotionMap will imminently be deployed as the main interface for another well publicised smart city launch in Cambridge. But this is just the beginning, we have big plans for MotionMap both in terms of scale and functionality and other equally exciting projects waiting to be brought to life.
What are we looking for?
We are searching for a highly driven candidate that enjoys responsibility and autonomy as much as being part of a team. We expect you to share and embrace new ideas, skills, and knowledge. With regard to your technical skills, we need you to have experience with .NET or Java, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/Typescript, Unit and End to end testing, CI with Jenkins or TeamCity.
Additionally, it would be nice to have (or willingness to learn)
-
Microservices experience
-
AWS/Azure
-
Docker
-
Android/iOS
What will you be doing?
As a core part of our agile development team, reporting into and working alongside our hands on CTO, CEO, CRO and other developers, you’ll have a significant impact on the future direction of our products and company. We are an organisation fuelled by lively debate so being a confident communicator, participating in evolving our solutions, tools, and technologies is very much part of the job description.
What will you get in return?
-
Competitive salary depending on experience + generous share options
-
Flexible working hours in a highly creative and fun office environment
-
Opportunities for phenomenal personal growth and career development
-
Gym membership and as much fruit as you can eat
Interested?
If you’re looking to be challenged and want no two days to be the same then send us your CV with a short covering letter to recruitment (at) buildingintellect.co.uk. No agencies thanks.
